Cameroon intermediate FETP residents urged on team work

A group of 13 health workers is attending the first cohort of the intermediate field epidemiology training program in Cameroon.

The residents have recently completed their fourth workshop in Yaoundé and come from the 10 regions of Cameroon and at the Central level of public health.

Officiating at the start of the workshop, Dr. Linda Esso Endalle, the sub-director of the department of disease control, epidemics and pandemics urged the residents to exercise the highest level of discipline, “which is the royal rule for the success of the training.”

Dr. Endalle appreciated the personal rigor of the residents who she considered role models for the next cohort. She emphasized the need for team work during the writing of scientific articles for publication.

The goal of intermediate FETP is to improve the health ministry’s capacity to identify, investigate, respond to and communicate about public health concerns at the sub-national levels of the public health system. The training focuses on strengthening epidemiologic capacity at the middle and national levels of the health system.

Other officials at the workshop included Dr. Mendjime Patricia Laurice Fanemann, Coordinator of the intermediate program and Dr Evouna Armel, coordinator the advanced FETP and Dr Anya Amvella Priscilia, coordinator of the frontline program
