Standardization of a Rapid Response Team in the Kongo Central Region of the Democratic Republic of Congo is nearing completion following a second workshop to revise the recently set Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) with the purpose of finalizing the requisite documents for adaptation.
From 1 -3 June 2022 the team revised SOPs for the national level and from 8 – 10 June 2022 the team revised the provincial level SOPs.
In the initial workshop held in May, the team formulated materials used in the management of health response teams to better manage incidents at the provincial level. These SOPs are a set of instructions and guidelines describing actions to be taken by different members of the RRT team. Though standard national SOPs exist, there was a need to adapt them to the provincial levels to better suit the unique needs at these levels.
The second workshop was facilitated by Kombe John - Ministry of Health (MoH) Senyana Florent - CDC, Bukasa Madeleine - MOH, Angendu Karl MoH, Mitonga Gaëlla, MoH, Kazu Zorine – JHPIEGO, Kwibe Bitakwuira David – Public health expert, Ayumuna Belinda – AFENET, Matanda Linda – AFENET and Mubenga Gauthier – AFENET. All revised documents will be sent to the Technical Commission for Disease Control (CTLM) for adoption, validation and dissemination.
