Celebration of World Malaria Day in Ghana

The 2023 World Malaria Day commemoration was a significant event for Ghana in its fight against malaria. Ghana’s National Malaria Elimination Program (NMEP) organized this event, which brought together key stakeholders from the health sector and beyond. The theme for this year’s World Malaria Day was titled “Time to Deliver Zero Malaria: Invest, Innovate, and implement.”
The African Field Epidemiology Network (AFENET Ghana) / Ghana Field Epidemiology and Laboratory Training Program (Ghana FELTP) together with other institutions participated in the World Malaria Day held on April 25, 2023, at the Accra International Conference Centre, Accra, Ghana. The Program was there to showcase its contribution in supporting the fight against malaria in Ghana.
AFENET Ghana / Ghana FELTP showcased outputs on the various malaria related activities that have been conducted by residents and alumni of the GFELTP in the area of surveillance, outbreak investigation and response and planned research. The Program also introduced guests to the vision and mission of AFENET and the GFELTP, the various partners and collaborators. Guests were also taken through the achievements and its support in improving the health of the people in Ghana and beyond as well as ensuring a healthier Africa.
