The training, which was completed by 38 frontline health workers – graduates from Somalia’s Frontline Field Epidemiology Training Program (FETP) – aimed to enhance their skills in data quality, routine immunization, early outbreak detection of vaccine-preventable disease, and response to disease outbreaks.
The closing ceremony on July 24 featured remarks from Her Excellency Dr. Maryan Mohamed – State Minister of Health (FMOHS), Dr. Hussein Abukar Muhidin – Executive Director of the Somalia National Institute of Health (NIH), Dr. Tatek Bogale -Horn of Africa Regional Technical Coordinator-AFENET), and Mr. Kasim Mahdi – AFENET Somalia.
