Dr. Peter Nsubuga
After working with the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (US CDC) for 14 years as a medical epidemiologist, in 2012 Dr Nsubuga joined Global Public Health Solutions to serve in the same docket.
Dr Nsubuga has published on HIV/AIDS, TB, immunizable diseases, maternal and child health, non- communicable diseases, and malaria research, with over150 peer-reviewed authored and co- authored manuscripts. He was Lead evaluator: Evaluation of the WHO-AFRO HIV Regional Framework for Action 2016-2020. He was a Member and Chair: Technical Steering Committee for the study on the Impact of the Global Polio Eradication Initiative on Strengthening Routine Immunization and Primary Healthcare funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation (up to 2010).
Dr Nsubuga was selected as a WHO-AFRO Consultant to conduct continent-wide documentation of the best practices in the Global Polio Eradication Initiative in Africa. He developed strategic plans for the African Society of Laboratory Medicine and Nigeria Field Epidemiology and Laboratory Training Program. He graduated from Makerere University in 1990 with a bachelor in internal medicine and general surgery. This was followed in 1996 with a Master’s in Public Heath – Epidemiology from the University of California - Berkeley, before moving on to secure a certificate in field epidemiology of the US CDC’s EIS Program in 2000.
