The Ghana FELTP held the first of three workshops for Cohort XV of the programs Frontline FETP at the Eusbett Hotel, Sunyani, Brong Ahafo region from 9 – 13 September 2019. Participants comprised 4 Disease Control Officers, 6 Health Information Officers, 3 Public Health Nurses, 3 Public Health Officers, 2 Health Promotion Officers, 5 Laboratory Scientists, 5 Veterinary Technical Officers, and 2 officials from the Food and Drugs Authority (FDA).
The workshop covered the following topics: Introduction to public health surveillance, Surveillance cycle, Data collection, Case definitions, Line listing, Data quality, Summarizing qualitative and quantitative data, Interpreting surveillance data and Monitoring and evaluation (M&E) relating to public health surveillance.
