AFENET Welcomes New Board Chair, Prof. Ernest Kenu

The African Field Epidemiology Network (AFENET) is pleased to announce the appointment of Prof. Ernest Kenu as the new Chair of the AFENET Board. He succeeds Lazarus Kuonza, whose tenure concludes after nearly two years of dedicated service.
AFENET extends sincere appreciation to Prof. Kuonza for his leadership and commitment to strengthening field epidemiology and public health systems across Africa.
In his acceptance remarks, Prof. Kenu expressed gratitude for the trust placed in him and reaffirmed his commitment to guiding the network through both opportunities and challenges. He emphasized resilience, innovation, and strengthened resource mobilization to ensure AFENET remains a leading public health implementation partner on the continent.
As AFENET begins this new chapter, the network remains committed to building stronger public health systems and advancing a healthier Africa.
