Dr. Júlio Leite is an experienced public health leader specializing in field epidemiology and laboratory training in Lusophone Africa. He serves as the Program Director of the Angola Field Epidemiology and Laboratory Training Program (FELTP), overseeing capacity building in applied epidemiology, outbreak response, and emergency preparedness in Angola.
As a member of the AFENET Board of Directors, Dr. Leite contributes to the oversight and strategic guidance of the African Field Epidemiology Network, supporting its mission to strengthen public health surveillance, laboratory systems, and workforce capacity across more than 40 member FELTPs in Africa.
With a deep commitment to public health training and regional collaboration, he plays a central role in Advancing health security and resilience in Angola and beyond. His efforts support improving epidemic detection, response strategies, and effective mentoring of health professionals across Lusophone Africa.
