- Background
The Field Epidemiology network of Zambia (ZAFENET) is a professional network of field epidemiologists established in 2019, to promote learning, collaboration, and continuous professional development among graduates and residents of the Zambia Field Epidemiology Training Program (ZFETP).
Over the years, ZAFENET has served as a platform for sharing experiences, showcasing fieldwork, and strengthening partnerships among public health professionals across Zambia and beyond. Building on this foundation, the 2025 Virtual Scientific Conference aims to bring together epidemiologists, public health practitioners, researchers, and partners to share evidence, innovations, and lessons that can shape the future of epidemiology and public health practice in Zambia.
- Rationale
Zambia continues to face evolving public health challenges — from infectious disease outbreaks such as cholera and Mpox, to the growing burden of non-communicable diseases and climate-related health threats.
