In a bid to share the robust field experiences of the graduates and trainees of the Togo FETP in recent years, especially post-pandemic, a 5-day scientific manuscript writing workshop was organized for the graduates at Ivans Plaza Hotel, Kpalime from 12 – 17 August 2024. The workshop focused on group work and individual field outputs totaling 18 drafts. The sessions were facilitated by Dr Chukwuma Umeokonkwo – Senior Technical Officer at AFENET Secretariat, Dr Seogo Hamadou – the Regional Technical Coordinator for West Africa Francophone, Dr Rebecca Kinde – the Resident Advisor FETP Togo, Mr Ernest Liuta – French Editor at the Journal of Interventional Epidemiology and Public Health and mentors from the Togo FETP.

The workshop provided hands-on mentorship to the participants to transform their field work into publishable scientific manuscripts in international peer-reviewed journals. Each of the participants will receive post-workshop mentorship to ensure that the works are submitted to journals and followed up to publication.

The participants who were drawn from the Ministry of Health and other One Health-related sectors expressed gratitude to the Togo FETP, the Ministry of Health Togo and AFENET for providing them with this capacity to jump-start their scientific communication journey.
