We at AFENET and the field epidemiology fraternity are deeply shocked and saddened by the sudden passing of Dr. Faustine Ndugulile, the World Health Organization (WHO) Africa Regional Director-elect.
Dr. Ndugulile was a visionary leader whose unwavering dedication to advancing public health across Africa will forever be remembered. His remarkable contributions have left an enduring legacy, and his untimely loss is a profound tragedy for the global health community.
On behalf of AFENET, we extend our heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and colleagues, as well as to the parliament and people of Tanzania. Our thoughts are with all who had the privilege of working with him. May his memory continue to inspire efforts to improve health systems and outcomes across the continent.
