Lesotho Graduates Cohort IV FETP Frontline Healthcare Workers

The Lesotho FETP graduated 19 members of Cohort IV FETP Frontline on 5th April 2023, at Avani Maseru Hotel. The Minister of Health, Hon Selibe Mochoboroane, represented by the FETP Program Director Dr Tsepang Lekhela. In her remarks, she thanked AFENET and US CDC in supporting the country to prepare her healthcare workers to defend the population against disease threats. The US CDC Country Director for Lesotho, Dr. Kassim Sidibe, expressed their commitment to building a strong public health workforce for a safer population.

The Ministry of Health with financial support from the United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention enrolled 19 surveillance health officers from the human, animal and public health laboratories to be trained with technical support from African Field Epidemiology Network (AFENET) on disease surveillance, outbreak investigation, surveillance data quality and problem analysis, and surveillance data analysis. The competencies acquired will enable healthcare workers to effectively implement global health security measures in Lesotho.
